Definition

Asthma is persistent condition affecting the respiratory system where in the airway seldom tightens, swells, and is lined with extreme amounts of mucus, usually in reaction to one or more triggers. The episodes may be set off by events such as contact to an environmental allergen or stimulant like cold air, moist air, warm air, excessive exercise or emotional stress. Common cold can set off the episodes on children.

Prevalence

Palms may begin to perspire or numbness of the limbs is felt by the patient before losing consciousness. This kind of attack may even lead to respiratory arrest or worse death.
