As promised I am sending a brief resume of the parasite problem I have had for a number of years:

Am so pleased you have been able to diagnose the problem with my kidneys. A number of years ago another lady with a diagnostic machine was able to pinpoint a problem and although she thought it could be parasites she had no way of proving it. Knowing I had a problem with my kidneys I had an ultra-sound test done and an intravenous urogram. The results were negative and the hospital consultant said there was no problem with my kidneys.

Previous to this appointment I had noticed that on the odd occasion I was passing 1" long white 'things' in my urine. I mentioned this to the consultant who chose to ignore it. On a later occasion I mentioned this also to my GP who said it was probably natural secretions from the vagina. When you were able to diagnose schistosomiasis I then did some research in the Encyclopaedia Britannica and found that the urinary blood fluke, which lives in the veins of the urinary bladder, works its way through the vein wall into the bladder and is voided during urination. Another source tells me the parasites grow into adult male and female worms up to one inch in length and about half the eggs leave the body in the urine. The rest of the eggs remain in the body and damage important organs. Having read this I realised that what I was passing was bilharziasis flukes. Since taking your medication I have not passed further flukes. I just regret that the cause of my problem was not diagnosed earlier and wonder what damage might have been done to my kidneys.

Thank you again for the kind assistance you have given me.
